Brummies win but bad night for Danny
Birmingham Brummies carried on their impressive run of results with a fourteen point victory over the Poole Pirates at Perry Barr in this televised Sky Sports Elite League clash but for Danny King it was a night to forget.
Danny could consider himself unlucky after an opening heat fall when he tried to avoid contact with team mate Ben Barker who locked up in front of him. The referee didn’t see things that way and allowed the race to continue and Poole Pirates were off to a good start.  Danny almost ran into the back of Maciej Janowski in heat six and it was clear even by that stage that it wasn’t going to be his night.
King was down again in the original staging of heat ten after a nudge from Przemyslaw Pawlicki on the first bend before he was unable to make any impact in the re-run. A poor start in heat 13 again meant that Danny could make little impact on the Pirates duo of Holder and Janowski. This was a meeting to forget in all honesty, certainly in the Team King section of the Brummies pits it has to be said.
Birmingham 54 DANNY KING 1+1 (F,1*,0,0), Ben Barker 12, Martin Smolinski 10+2, Jason Doyle 8+1, Chris Harris 8+1, Nicolas Covatti 7+2 and Josh Auty 7+3
Poole 40 Chris Holder 15, Rohan Tungate 2, Przemyslaw Pawlicki 6+1, Robert Miskowiak R/R, Maciej Janowski 15+1, Dawid Stachyra 2 and Thomas H Jonasson 0
