Profile

Early life
Danny King was born and raised in Maidstone, Kent (born 14th August 1986).  At the tender age of 6 years old, Danny had his first taste of racing riding in the grasstrack scene on a PW50.  From here his love of racing grew, quickly picking up many accolades in his early days as part of the South Eastern Grasstrack Juniors.

However, Danny always had his sights on speedway and at the age of 15 years his speedway career started, following in his brothers (Jason King) footsteps by joining the Peterborough Pumas.  This was the start of his career which has since gone on to span over 20 years in the sport.

Career
Danny has been successful in his career, riding for several different teams across both the Premiership and Championship levels.  A breakdown of these clubs can be found below.  Danny has many great memories from his team racing with various teams, however it is fair to say he has been a particularly loyal servant to British Speedway and in particular the Ipswich Witches who he has raced for over 15 years and counting.

As the Skipper of the side, Danny is determined to win further silverware for a team who believed in him in the early days.

Individually, Danny has achieved great things but it would be safe to assume that his highest accolade to date would be his British Championship 1st place in 2016.  This led Danny on to his first experience riding in the Speedway GP where he racked up 7 points, even coming away with a winning race which was one of the races of the night lifting the roof of the stadium with cheers!

Danny has also had several opportunities to race for his country both in the earlier days with the Under 21 Team and then as part of the Great British (senior) Team.  Danny gained a silver medal in both the U21 World Team Championships (2007) and in the Speedway World Cup (2016).

Personal life
Danny is a very private individual who enjoys a quiet family life outside of the speedway world.  He is married to wife, Clara, and they have two sons (Logan and Casey) who all enjoy going along to support Danny when schedules allow.
